BRIEF: Author Friend headlines Fiber Farm Tour event

Source: Post-Bulletin, Rochester, Minn.mini storageOct. 07--LANESBORO -- The Sheep and Fiber Farm Tour, designed to promote a sustainable fiber industry in southern Minnesota, will be held Friday through Sunday.The centerpiece event will be an evening of wine and cheese with writer Catherine Friend, author of "Sheepish" and "Hit by a Farm," from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday at the Berwood Hill Inn, 22139 Hickory Road, Lanesboro. Tickets are $15, available at .fiberfarmtour.com. Friend raises sheep and goats on her farm.A tour of farms and the Faribault Woolen Mill is available from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The farms on the tour have a 儲存ariety of fiber animals, including sheep, alpaca and yak. The farms will also host spinning and weaving demonstrations. Also, a "yarn bombing," a public art installation that features items covered in hand-knitted or crocheted fabric, can be seen at the Houston Public Library in Houston, Minn.Farms on the tour are the Ellison Sheep Farm in Zumbrota, the Wiscoy Valley Farm in Houston, the Clear Spring Farm in Welch, and the Rach-Al-Paca Farm in Hastings.
