William & Mary can't hold Villanova on final drive, loses 20-16

Source: Richmond Times-Dispatch, Va.mini storageOct. 05--VILLANOVA, Pa. -- William and Mary held off Villanova for most of the game, but the Tribe couldn't do it on one final drive and dropped a 20-16 heartbreaker to the Wildcats in a CAA Football game on Saturday.William and Mary, which used two quarterbacks after starter Michael Graham went out with an undisclosed injury early in the second quarter, had fourth and 1 at the Villanova 7 with the score tied 13-13.The Tribe elected to kick a 24-yard field goal and take a 16-13 lead with 6:17 left.Villanova went on a 13-play, 80-yard drive, converting three third downs. A pass interference penalty gave the Wildcats the ball at the Tribe 2 with 59 seconds left. After a false start penalty, Steve Robertson carried the ball to the inch line, then scored on a sneak with 28 seconds left.William and Mary (3-1, 1-1) had one shot from the Villanova 40, but Steve Cluley was 迷你倉acked to end the game.Graham was 7 for 10 passing for 66 yards and a touchdown before being thrown down hard on second and goal at the 3 with more than 10 minutes left before halftime. He didn't return.Cluley was 4 of 9 for 33 yards. Brent Caprio was 4 of 6 for 56 yards.
