Two dead in overnight motorcycle crash
Source: Albuquerque Journal, N.儲存M.Oct. 04--Aragon Sigifredo died of his injuries Friday at the University of New Mexico Hospital, said UNMH Public Relations Representative Cindy Foster.-------------------------------------------------------------A passenger on a motorcycle died and the driver is in critical condition when the motorcycle crashed late Thursday after being chased by police, Bernalillo Sheriff's spokesman Aaron Williamson said.The woman was identified as 31-year-old Luz Ponce-Martinez. The driver of the motorcycle, 34-year-old Aragon Sigifredo of Albuquerque, was still in critical condition Friday afternoon, Williamson said.According to Williamson, shortly after 11 p.m. Thursday, the Albuquerque police officer, who was not identified, spotted a group of motorcyclists traveling north on Coors approaching Paseo del Norte.One of the motorcycles did not have a license plate. The officer tried to stop the driver, but the group sped away and turned east onto Paseo Del Norte.The officer turned onto Paseo but lost sight of the group and turned off his emergency equipment, Williamson said.As the officer continued east omini storage Paseo del Norte, he came upon the crash scene and stopped to give aid.An investigation is continuing, Williamson said. However, speed has been cited as a factor in the crash, he said.--------------------------------------------------------------A female motorcycle passenger is dead and the driver is in critical condition at University of New Mexico Hospital this morning following a late-night crash on Paseo Del Norte near 2nd Street.Williamson had earlier reported that a large group of motorcycles were traveling east on Paseo Del Norte at a high rate of speed late Thursday evening. One of the motorcycles crashed into the back of a full-sized pickup.The male driver and a female passenger were taken to UNMH where the female died.
