I thought they did a good job of defending us. The game was close there until about the middle of the third quarter, but we were able to make the plays and I thought that was a keymini storagepart of the game."After Kenton scored on the opening drive of the game -- a 65-yard scoring drive that took a little more than a minute off the clock -- Elida then controlled the clock for most of the first quarter. However, Kenton got it going in the second quarter and pulled out to a 28-0 halftime lead. "That's faster than they have ever started a game, when you look at the films."They came out quick on their first drive. Then, I thought we settled down a little bit. Our offense actually drove the ball really well in the first quarter. We threw everything we had at them in the first quarter. We just couldn't capitalize."Elida quarterback Logan Alexander completed 11 of 26 passes for 103 yards.Sawmiller said he wasn't thinking about the national record."I didn't even think about it, until at the end of the game," Sawmiller said.
