Three people arrested in Mercer County heroin case

Source: The Lima News, OhioDec.mini storage 24--CELINA -- The Mercer County Sheriff's Office arrested three people, including two on drug charges, on Monday afternoon, Sheriff Jeff Grey reported.The home owner at 108 N. Washington St., Mendon, allowed detectives into the house who were in search of a wanted person allegedly staying at the address.They later found Jessica A. Landon, 25, of 5327 Mud Pike, Celina, and arrested her a bench warrant from Mercer County Common Pleas Court for bond revocation due to testing positive for heroin on two occasions while out of jail on bond.Jaqualine L. Smith, 22, 108 N. Washington St., Mendon was also arrested on a misdemeanor warrant for failure to appear on an original charge of seatbelt violation. Zachary T. Lentz, 20, 122 Lake St., Celina, was arrested foself storage possessing drug abuse instruments.Landon and Lentz were both tested at the jail, and both had presumptive positive tests for opiates (commonly known as heroin) and marijuana. Grey expects additional charges will be filed against Lentz. Detectives are also reviewing the possibility of filing charges on the home owner."Heroin is a serious problem in this county," Grey said. "We are going to continue the battle, continue to drug test on occasions the law allows, and are pursuing criminal charges against people who harbor the individuals or provide them money for heroin.
