Target theft spree comes to end after suspect's license plate caught on camera
Source: The Commercial Appeal, Memphis, Tenn.迷利倉Jan. 06--Four times, Brantly Burton went into area Target stores, took portable electronics out of their packaging and left with the items, police said.But thanks to alert security folks at Target, Burton's alleged crime spree came to an end when cameras caught his license plate as he was leaving after the latest incident.Burton, 25, has been charged with theft of property $500-$1,000. He has been released on $1,000 bond.According to police, the first incident happened Aug. 16 at the Target at 7989 Highway 64 near the Wolfchase Galleria. Burton allegedly took an iPod sound dock valued at $199.99 out of its packaging, then left the empty box behind. On Sept. 11, he allegedly struck again, this time leaving behind the empty box for a $79.99迷你倉hard drive at the 7967 Winchester store.On Nov. 14, Target employees found another empty box at the 425 N. Germantown Parkway store, this time for another hard drive valued at $139.99. Two days later, Burton apparently struck again at the same store. According to surveillance, he allegedly took two more hard drives valued at $209.09. Total loss from all the thefts: $629.95.Police tracked Burton down through his license plate, then confirmed that it was the same man through his driver's license photo and Facebook page.Burton was also arrested last Aug. 26 in Bartlett for another theft, this one under $500.Copyright: ___ (c)2014 The Commercial Appeal (Memphis, Tenn.)
