Source: The Gazette, Cedar Rapids, IowaAug.自存倉 09--MARION -- Pat Kraft and her daughter, Kelly McCarville, didn't know what to expect when they planned and hosted last year's Psychic & Paranormal Expo."In our imaginings the first year, if we could get 200 people in the door, we'd be thrilled," Kraft says. "Three hundred was the dream."So to lose track when the number exceeded 700 was exhilarating. It was also the only validation the pair needed to plan a second expo, which will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday. The event will feature physic and paranormal representatives from several states. The expo allows the believers, the curious -- and even the skeptics -- to learn more."Just as reluctant as I am to say 'Hey, I'm a psychic,' people are reluctant to look for one, too," says McCarville, who is a psychic."It's educational, but it's also an opportunity for people to meet the people that they wouldn't otherwise meet," says Kraft, who describes herself as the "skeptical-but open-to-possibilities-type."More than 50 vendors will attend Saturday's expo, including Michael Mapes., a medium who has appeared on the "The Joyce Keller Show" and other radio shows. Mapes will do readings and lead a presentation about intuition.Eric Kline of Paranormal Endeavors will give a presentation on the spiritual side of paranormal investigation, providing information about some of迷你倉新蒲崗the "tools" of the trade. The Iowa Paranormal Advanced Research Team will share video clips about their group and some of the investigations they've participated in, and lead discussions about what is and what isn't considered to be paranormal. They also will share some of the Electronic Voice Phenomena they have collected during their investigations. There also will be holistic services including reflexology and essential oils, for additional fees. The event is open to the public, but organizers prefer that children under age 18 attend with an adult."We want to be respectful of their parents and their parents' beliefs," McCarville says. When it comes to believing, everyone has their own experiences and their own opinions -- and that's OK, says Kraft. She doesn't consider herself a believer, but says she's experienced far too much for it all to be coincidental."If you're curious, this is the place to go," Kraft says."I think half the fun is just talking to people and explaining to them what we do," McCarville adds. "It's a lot of talking, a lot of teaching."If you go:2nd Annual Psychic and Paranormal ExpoSaturday, Aug. 1010 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kirkwood Training & Outreach Services, 3375 Armar Drive in MarionCopyright: ___ (c)2013 The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) Visit The Gazette (Cedar Rapids, Iowa) at thegazette.com Distributed by MCT Information Services迷你倉出租
