BRIEF: $1.6M of pot found among jalapeno shipment at Rio Grande City bridge

Source: The Monitor, McAllen, TexasAug.迷你倉 28--RIO GRANDE CITY -- Federal authorities seized more than 1,600 pounds of marijuana concealed in a shipment of jalapeno peppers Monday at the Rio Grande City-Camargo International Bridge.A white tractor-trailer carried the shipment of hot peppers and drugs north of the Rio Grande on Monday evening. A U.S. Customs and Border Protection officer referred the vehicle to further inspection for agricultural goods, where other officers discovered the shipment contained packages of mar新蒲崗迷你倉juana mixed with the peppers.Officers seized 479 packages of marijuana from the shipment. The drugs have an estimated street value of just more than $1.6 million.Officers also seized the jalapenos and the vehicle.
